Raleigh
Stone and brick masonry across Raleigh — patios, walkways, retaining walls, chimneys, fire pits and repointing on older brick.
Raleigh is where most of our work is, and the city gives a mason two very different jobs. Inside the beltline you have brick from the forties and fifties with joints that have been quietly washing out for a decade, chimneys with cracked crowns, and stone porches that have settled at one corner. North and west you have newer houses with builder-grade slabs and a back yard that needs a patio, a wall and somewhere to put a fire.
Both come down to the same thing: figuring out where the water goes. Raleigh sits on clay that holds water and moves with it, so we dig to firm ground, compact a real base, and put drainage behind every retaining wall before we worry about which stone goes on the face. On repair work we find out why the joints failed before we repoint them, because a patch over a water problem is a patch you pay for twice.
We work across Raleigh from North Hills and Five Points to Brier Creek and Southeast Raleigh. Estimates are free and on site, the price goes in writing before anything starts, and the phone is answered around the clock at (919) 520-2792.
